Hi there! As a part of my new Friday Favorites posts, I started a new series a couple of weeks ago on my favorite coffee table books. I have so many favorites that I decided to break them up into four of my top passions….home design, fashion design, entertaining and cooking, and books for the collector or enthusiast. If you are stopping by after last week’s post, welcome back! If you are new to this series, I hope you will enjoy it and stop back in.
This week, I am sharing my top 20 favorite coffee table books that focus on entertaining and cooking. There are so many talented ladies and gentlemen out there that have given so much of their time and talent by sharing them through their books.

If you enjoy hosting guests like we do, gathering inspirations from these talented authors is a great way to gain new ideas, themes, planning instructions, recipes, etc. Not only do they showcase their talents and display stunning images, they make great coffee table books! Bonus!
As an interior designer for over 25 years, I have incorporated coffee tables in almost every single project for my clients and throughout my home. They are so versatile and help tell the story of YOU and your passions. In this picture, they provide a perfect visual foundation to feature my most beloved accessory that I acquired from my late, precious grandmother who passed away recently (at 103 years old!).
There are a few recommendations below from a Dallas friend from my high school that are amazing! Kimberly Schlegel Whitman and her mother, Myrna Schlegel are renowned entertainers and hostesses. I thoroughly enjoyed working with the two of them on a couple of fashion show fundraisers that I chaired for our school years ago. I am so happy to see Kim’s talents highlighted in the pages of her books. Her most recent book, “Parties Around the Punch Bowl”, just became available a few months ago, so check it out (it is linked below)!

With the exception of some of the newest editions here, I have owned most of these books for quite a long time and still enjoy crawling into one of my sofas and burying myself into their beautiful pages. I recommend a nice glass of wine as you dive in!
For the last two weeks, I focused on home design books and fashion design books. Next, I will feature my favorite books for the collector or enthusiast. To see my last two posts on these subjects, click on this links below…
