We have just wrapped up our two-week spring break (long story!) which is why I have been a bit out of pocket for the last couple of weeks. I took a little break to be with my kids and enjoy some family time. I am excited to quickly share this Simple Spring Table Setting. I put this together for a Sushi Dinner my friend, Heidi, was hosting for her husband’s company.

For the first week of our spring break, I took my daughter to Aspen for some skiing and to spend time with one of my best friends. Our daughters grew up together so it was super fun to get them back together again. It was so like old times and so nice for us moms to witness. Not only did we all enjoy mani-pedis together, but we also shopped, ate glorious food and worked diligently to choose a prom dress for Heidi’s daughter. Great stuff!
Simple Spring Table Setting
Now onto the table setting! First, let me say that I wasn’t planning on doing a post on this table because I didn’t have my good camera with me. I took these photos with my phone, so please excuse the quality. I actually think they turned out pretty well though so I decided to go ahead and share this with you.
Heidi’s function was the night after we left, so we decided to put together the main table setting the day before so it would be ready to go. There is so much prep for a sushi dinner the day of, so wrapping up the decor helped make things a lot easier for her on Saturday. Heidi is an epic hostess and home cook. She is always entertaining their friends and family and catering to other large and small events about town.

Like me, she maintains a large collection of tableware so it was easy to pull this together. This was a common bond we realized early in our friendship!! All of the tableware I used came straight from her drawers. For the centerpiece, we just bought all of the flowers from her local grocery store. We selected a combination of potted orchids and fresh flower bunches. You can see what we started with here…
Because Heidi’s table is so long (it seats 14), she bought three of the orchids and then we made five of these simple arrangements to spread out among the orchids.

Since we added in the little pop of yellow, I decided to use her gold Chilewich placemats to compliment the arrangements.

Here is a shot of the prep work from later that night. We got to eat some of the 38 lbs. of the highest grade of sushi during the prep time! Lucky us!!

Doesn’t this look divine?! This was a little “snack” she made for us while we watched her prep all of the fish.

I hope you enjoyed this quick and Simple Spring Table Setting we put together! Heidi and I are like frick and frack in the kitchen and around a table. We love entertaining together and it is certainly something special that bonds us. I so enjoyed sharing this with you and sharing a little bit of her as well.
