The weather here in Colorado does not quite feel like fall yet. However, our son has gone off to college and our daughter has started her senior year in high school so it feels like fall is right around the corner. To commemorate this new season in our lives, I decided to put together an Alfresco Wine Dinner Party for some out of town guests.

Our Alfresco Wine Dinner Party
Since this was, most likely, our last formal outdoor event for the season, I decided to take it up a notch outside and bring some of the indoors out to mix it up a bit. Indoor furniture moved outside combined with outdoor plants helped create a great look!

As you may know, we have had a crazy summer and last couple of weeks. So, I decided to enlist some last-minute help from my friend, DeeDee of Distinctive Tabletop Rentals, to help me out. Unfortunately, I did not have time to go shop for the elements I was hoping to incorporate, so I called her!

First, I explained the concept of the dinner party. Since we all are wine lovers, each guest was to bring one of their favorite bottles of wine to share with the rest of the group. I made sure to create multiple courses that would be well paired with what I anticipated our guests would bring.

Based on the fact that most of our guests would bring red wine, that was the inspiration for the color palette. DeeDee had the perfect napkins with multiple tones of red and wine colors…perfect for fall.

At this point, we decided what we would use of mine and what pieces she would supplement to finish off the look. It was so much less expensive than buying all new plates, napkins, etc. We utilized my grey square salad plates and smoke wine glasses.

I loved combining her red-rimmed bubble wine glass to add in a touch of red.

The centerpiece for our Alfresco Wine Dinner Party
Since we were eating outdoors, I decided to just incorporate some of my own potted succulents for the centerpiece. Super easy, and natural!

To wrap things up, I simply added a few of my grey hobnail hurricanes for some lovely ambiance once it got dark. Candlelight at night is so romantic!

Since summer is coming to a close, it was really nice to have one more outdoor event. We sat outside for hours and really enjoyed our last Alfresco Wine Dinner Party for the season.

We actually hosted two other Alfresco dining event this summer. If you would like to see them, click on these links below.

Cheers to our upcoming fall!

I LOVE this table Holly! So fun to incorporate the red – I hope the wines were as yummy as the tablescape! 💗
Aren’t they always?! The burgundy red made so much sense for a wine tasting dinner! Thanks for stopping by! XO
