Rustic Pumpkin Fall Tablescape

Now that Halloween is almost here, I am already planning and creating a new Rustic Pumpkin Fall Tablescape to transition us to Thanksgiving. This table will be set until I start putting together our more formal table setting for our Thanksgiving festivities. I am excited to share the details with you.

For fall, I love using neutral colors. Brown and green are such a natural fit as they occur so preveniently in nature. I bought my brown velvet pumpkins several years and they were perfect to start things off.

As you know, I typically attempt to feature one or more natural elements on my tables. Flowers, greenery, fruit or vegetables, etc. It was my goal to keep this table setting very simple since I will soon be attacking my house with an overabundance of Christmas trees and decorations. I decided to use one of my favorite home accessories to anchor the centerpiece.

NOTE: I just started using Lightroom to help me edit my photos and it has been a huge learning curve. So, please bear with me as I try to improve my images for you.

The Centerpiece for my Rustic Pumpkin Fall Tablescape

This potted preserved moss arrangement was perfect! The mounding effect of the moss works so well with the pumpkins. All I did for the rest of the centerpiece was add the variety of pumpkins in browns and greens. Super simple!

Velvet pumpkins seem to be so popular lately and there are so many beautiful options out there. Mixing them with other colors and textures of pumpkins can add a subtle amount of interest to your table.

Because the centerpiece covered up so much of the middle of my table, I decided to let the wood of the table shine through. It is not very often that I don’t use any table coverings for the place settings. However, I think it really adds to the simple nature of this tablescape.

My rattan chargers added great texture to offset the table. Next, I layered in neutral plates from my collection and topped them off with grape leaf salad plates that are among my favorites. I wish so badly that Williams Sonoma would bring these back. I have been able to add to my existing set by finding them on Etsy and on eBay.

This year, I have added twig flatware to my collection and I just love them. They have really added a unique flair to my recent table settings. You can see how I used them for my Halloween Tablescape HERE.

To top things off, these grey paisley napkins added a soft touch of pattern. Any rustic napkin ring would be great to use, especially if it has an outdoor feel. Pine cones, rattan, wood, leaves or even feather would give the setting a rustic touch.

Other Details

To coordinate the table with the decor on my buffet, I just created a simple vignette with some of the same pumpkins I used on the table.

I have recently added this new artwork to the buffet for three reasons. First, I have been looking for a piece of art to use there to make it easier to shoot photos in my dining room because of all of the mirrors.

Second, it was my intention to break up my large mirror installation just a bit. Finally, I am obsessed with a new artist and designer, Josh Young, and this is the first piece I have bought from him. I was excited to feature it in a special place! You can check him out HERE.

If you would like to see how I used the same brown velvet pumpkins last year, stop by and see my Fall Table Setting with Brown and White Pumpkins. I also used them in this Fall Vignette (which has a really neat story).

Not only is this tablescape great for most occasions in the fall, but it would also be a great setting for Thanksgiving. I really enjoy creating tables that make our family and guests feel comfortable and at home. However, it is the faces and souls that sit around your table that make it a beautiful space!
