It is so hard to believe that Thanksgiving is almost here. It such a wonderful time for reflection as we take the time and effort to recognize the people and times we are thankful for. I am excited about what we will be sharing around our Succulents and Pumpkins Thanksgiving Table Setting in a few weeks as we gather with friends and family!

Succulents and Pumpkins Thanksgiving Table Setting
We are typically in Dallas for Thanksgiving, but since our son is away at his first year of college he wanted to stay in Denver for the holiday week. My parents are sad, but they understand that he just wants to be home in Colorado to be with his friends. They totally get it. Now, I actually get to host a Thanksgiving Dinner on Thanksgiving Day in our D!

A few weeks ago, I was meeting with my favorite floral designers from Bouquets here in Denver. When I mentioned my Thanksgiving table and my plans to use oranges, greys, and pumpkins, Kari informed me that oranges, greys, and taupes are the “IT” colors for this season with regard to florals. Bingo!! Light bulbs went off in both of our heads!

The Centerpiece
Because I needed the centerpiece to last through Thanksgiving, using succulents was a wonderful idea! Kari was so excited to put them together so we ran with it.

I already had a full collection of little pumpkins from Trader Joe’s (don’t you just love Trader Joe’s?!) that I used around the house at the beginning of fall and for Halloween. So, my plan was to have a centerpiece that ran all the way down the table including the pumpkins I already had.

Creating the final centerpiece was only a matter of placing the succulent arrangements on the table and dispersing the mini pumpkins throughout.

The Placesettings
When I found these Acorn Harvest Placemats, I knew I wanted to use them as the starting point for the table setting. Complimenting the placemats with the grey linen napkins pulled it all together. Plus, these napkins can be used year-round, which is part of how I make my buying decisions. I actually have plans to use them for a Christmas table setting. 🙂

Designer tip: When making buying decisions with regard to your tableware, always think about how you can repurpose and reuse it.

Gold was my color of choice for accents for this table setting. The Christmas decor in my dining room features a lot of gold tones…hence, the gold.

Plus, I also love combining greys and golds.

Speaking of these tones, I started my Christmas decor for this room on our buffet. I shared Green and Gold Elegant Christmas Cone Tree Centerpiece earlier this week. All of the details are in the post HERE.

This is quite different from the Jewel-toned Thanksgiving Table Setting I created last year. I would for you to come to see the details HERE.

I so enjoyed putting this table setting together and I wish I could have you all over to sit around it and hear what you are thankful for! Creating this Succulents and Pumpkins Thanksgiving Table Setting was simple and it is easy for you to recreate. A bonus…the succulent arrangements can stick around for a while if taken care of.

Oh so gorgeous Holly! This is my very favorite succulent centerpiece to date! Love how you put the placemats vertically, too – really clever and pretty – and a great use of space. Thanks for the fall/winter connection – perfect! 💗
Awww, Barbara! You just made my day! I am so glad you like it. I love that the centerpiece will last through Thanksgiving and beyond! XO
love your table can. you advise where you got your glasses the grey and gold stems
Hi Lisa, I linked similar glassware towards the bottom of the post. I bought the grey glasses from World Market a while back but, unfortunately, they are not available anymore. I linked a similar one in the post. I hope that helps. 🙂
