Over the past several weeks, I have been transitioning decor from fall to Christmas around the house. Working on our Christmas decorations is my favorite pastime of the year! I am excited to start showing more of what I have been up to this week and next.

I typically start with our coffee table and buffet in our main dining room (since I do not have a mantle over our living room fireplace). For our theme this year, pine cones will be featured throughout our home. They will be combined with multiple shades of greens and mixed metallics. I will start posting my trees after Thanksgiving.
Transitioning Decor from Fall to Christmas BEFORE and AFTER
You may have seen my Warm and Cozy Fall Coffee Table Styling post. If not, here are a few images of it. When I put this together, I was also thinking of how I would only need to make a few minor changes to it to create a new festive holiday look for Christmas.

To start things off, I removed the pumpkins and fall berry sprigs for a clean slate. Since I envisioned the styling for the coffee table to be a bit more dramatic (especially since I do not have a mantel in this room), I moved the Mongolian faux fur throw more towards the middle of the coffee tables and removed one stack of books.

Next, I simply added one more hurricane to give the vignette a bit more depth. To bring in some holiday cheer, I placed in a few silver ornaments (who wants to guess that there will be some silver tones in my Christmas tree in this room?! HA!) and one of my favorite Santas.

Finally, I added in the winter sprigs with pine cones to my cylinder vase where I feature an array of branches from my yard. I really like the dramatic, organic texture it adds to the room. The backdrop of our marble fireplace certainly provides a modern twist.
This shot gives you a sneak peek of our Christmas tree in our main living room.
