My Mixed Metallic Woodland Christmas Tree
As you may know, pine cones are the main element I am featuring throughout our Christmas decor this year. Hence, the idea for a Mixed Metallic Woodland Christmas Tree. Once again, we are hosting two large functions for Christmas…a neighborhood seated Progressive Dinner and a large Christmas Eve dinner for our family, a few friends, and some out of town guests. Since our main dining room will be full of guests, I always do a tree in this room.

First, my goal was to coordinate this tree with the decor in the rest of the room. I typically put up a larger tree to the left of the buffet. However, the decorations on it have a lot going on so I decided to do a smaller, slim tree on the opposite side of the room. Isn’t it so fun to change things up?!

How I created this Mixed Metallic Woodland Christmas Tree
To create this tree, I started by placing all of my larger ornaments into the center of the tree and then built it out from there.

Next, I simply cut the netted ribbon into small pieces and tucked them into the tree limbs and then topped them off with the gold-dusted greenery sprays (that I have had for over ten years!). I love bringing them out and using them in this new way this year.

To top things off, I added the woodland pine and pinecone sprays to the top of the tree, along with a wonderful curly wood feature (I saved them from my Thanksgiving centerpieces from last year…more repurposing!). You can see them HERE.

Another way to customize the overall design of a tree is to coordinate your gift wrapping with the elements of your tree. It shows thoughtfulness and planning and really adds to the finishing touches.

I would love to hear what themes and color palettes you all are using!

Everything is so pretty! Today in my part of Texas, 50 miles northwest of Dallas, it was quite warm. This year I went with pops of traditional red along with white, silver and gold. No idea why this is all caps! Keep the posts coming💕
Thank you, Cathy! I love traditional red. And, you can’t do wrong with mixing silver and gold. I am sure it is all beautiful! XO
