Spring has, unfortunately, not sprung here yet. We are still buried in snow. In my effort to “wish” spring here, I have started bringing out a few touches that help me feel like it might be here soon. 🙂 So, I started with our main breakfast area and put together this Simple Spring Green and White Tablescape for our everyday use through St. Patrick’s Day.

Considering that St. Patrick’s Day is right around the corner, I decided to feature green and white. Once I found these beautiful Magnolia Salad Plates, it made things super simple. My great aunt had one of the most spectacular Magnolia trees in her front yard. Anytime I get to smell a real Magnolia flower, it evokes so many special memories from spending time at their house.

Simple Spring Green and White Tablescape
One of the things that inspired this post is the fact that I have gotten quite a few requests to show table settings for smaller tables. During the holidays, I rearranged this room by adding the buffet that was previously in our living room (to make room for our Christmas tree). Based on how much space it required, I took all of the leaves out of this table that used to seat 6 – 8 people. Special story…this table was given to my great-grandmother in 1900 as a wedding gift from my great-grandfather and it has been in my family ever since. I cannot explain how much I cherish this piece of furniture!

Now that there are only three of us here most of the time, this downsized table suits us better for our daily lives. Plus, it gives me an opportunity to show some table setting ideas for my readers with smaller tables. Bonus!

Part of the reason this is a “simple” table setting is because the salad plates are doing all of the work to pull everything together. The wood tones on the plates called for the rattan chargers and my wood napkin rings (that used to belong to my grandmother!). You could also use rattan napkin rings.

As you may know about me, I enjoy using napkins as placemats. I love the way they drape off the table and I can use them two ways…as a placemat or a napkin…sort of a “twofer”! I have used these Green Linen Hemstitch Napkins for so many occasions. One of my favorites was my Green and Gold Easter Table Setting that you can see HERE.

My greatest new find/love are these gorgeous Lenox Trianna Beverage Glasses! They are so fabulously versatile! You could use them for water, tea, soda, a fancy cocktail…you name it. I was so excited to use them for a table setting. They really glam up my green Dollar Tree stemware…don’t they?! I am confident this will not be the last time you will see them on my blog!! 🙂

The Centerpiece for our Simple Spring Green and White Table Setting
To keep things simple, I just used white hydrangeas with fresh greenery from my local grocery store to contrast the white. If you have followed me for a while, you know that I enjoy using my cylinder vases with floating candles. For an added touch, I cut up a few sprigs of the greenery and placed them in the water to further the green and white theme.

This little vignette was my second attempt to bring some spring into this space. It was so easy to put together, and I can leave it there all season. I bought both the white ceramic vase and the Springeri bushes from Michaels. All I had to do was place the four small bushes into the vase. That’s it. The shape of the vase keeps the greenery in place without having to do anything else. I just love the light and airy feel of them and they look so real.

I am so glad you stopped by to see our new Simple Spring Green and White Tablescape which would also work really well for St. Patrick’s Day! Is it spring where you are yet?!

Quite lovely, the magnolia plates are sweet!
Right?! I just love them! So versatile and I can use them all year long. Have a great day!
All the white and green looks just perfect, Holly… I especially love your new glasses. They look like Atomic glass – very retro and MCM! Pinned!
Thanks, my friend! I am so in love with the beverage glasses! They certainly make my green Dollar Store glasses look really nice! Have a great weekend, Julie! XO
So pretty Holly! I love a smaller table when there are just a few people – it’s so much cozier! And yours is lovely. Plus those candles! 🙂 Happy end of the week to you over there.
Same to you, Barbara! My husband pushed back when I originally made the change but now he really likes it. I am really glad even though he doesn’t get much of a say so! 😉 He, he!!
I love your vases filled with greenery, so pretty.
Thanks, Maria! The smaller vases are actually from the Dollar Tree so they were super inexpensive! The greenery is Myrtle from my local Trader Joes. Thanks for your kinds words! XO
