I cannot believe how close Thanksgiving is! For me, it really represents the “kick-off” of the glorious holiday season. Oh, happy day! Today, I am excited to share a Classic Blue and Orange Thanksgiving Tablescape that is simple to duplicate.
It seems like Thanksgiving still may look a little different this year since traveling is a bit sketchy right now. With that being said, we still plan to host our traditional Thanksgiving dinner here at home so I decided to get a jump start on it.
I have already put together our Pumpkin-Themed Christmas Tree for Thanksgiving, so now, I am moving onto the tablescape. In the tree (shown at the bottom of this post), I used a lot of orange and warm tones, so I decided to do a table with blue and orange to compliment the orange and warm tones of the tree and my overall fall decor.
You can see my Fall Home Tour that I just posted earlier this week HERE. I also shared lots of Simple and Natural Ideas for your indoor spaces.
A Classic Blue and Orange Thanksgiving Tablescape
Remember when we were kids and were taught about the color wheel? Well, if you don’t remember, blue and orange are complimentary colors on the wheel. This makes for a wonderful color palette for a fall tablescape.
A few weeks ago, I shared and outdoor Blue and Orange Alfresco Dining Tablescape for Fall that was a bit hit. That is another reason why I settled on this color palette for our Thanksgiving table.

I found the blue and orange pheasant plates on clearance at the Williams-Sonoma outlet. I love me a good clearance rack!! They were linkable when I bought them, but they are not available anymore (except at their outlets…in case you live near one). I am so bummed!

I am going to source a few other similar options below or other pieces that could be easily substituted.
Because of the warm tones on the plates and bowls, I decided to use my new acacia wood chargers. And, gold tones for the flatware and napkin rings.

For the flowers arrangements, I simply bought a few warm toned species of flowers from Trader Joe’s and then forged some textured foliage from our yard to create them.

Considering the pheasants on the salad plates, I really wanted the arrangements to feel “feathery”. Is that a real word?!

I liked the idea of it looking like the flowers are running all the way down the table for added drama.

Can you have a classic table setting without candles?? NO! NO! NO! Candlelight is a must have for a table like this!

Creating a “classic” look for a special occasion such as Thanksgiving, elevates the reason for the gathering. After all…

What do you think about creating a Classic Blue and Orange Thanksgiving Tablescape?! I am so anxious to hear about the color palettes you will be using for your Thanksgiving Table this year! Please let me know in the comments below…

i love the look of a table like yours that plays off of colorful salad plates or bowls. Question. what do you do with those items when it is time to sit down to eat if you are not serving salad or soup? do you collect them quickly and set them aside or what? i have wondered that but never seen it addressed.
thank you for your creative, tasteful decorations.
You are so sweet to say that, JaLea! I always serve a salad course so I definitely use them!
I love your table setting in blue and orange – it is gorgeous! And that Thanksgiving tree is beautiful and just sets off everything. What did you use for the placemats? Unless I missed it, I did not see a comment or link. Love reading your blog and all of your great ideas.
You are so sweet to say that, Glinda! I actually used napkins as the placemats. 🙂 I bought them a few years ago from Pier One but I really liked the beading around them and thought they would be great to use as placemats. I couldn’t link them because they don’t carry them anymore. 🙁
I thought that might be the answer for both the napkins as placemats and that you couldn’t link them. Thought I’d ask anyway just in case😀. I love how you use table runners or napkins as placemats! Great ideas. Thanks for answering.
You bet! Thanks for following along! XO
I loved the small flower arrangements – almost looked like there was one for each guest! Great table!
I hadn’t thought about that but that is actually how it turned out! XO
