Sadly, there are NO signs of spring around here in Colorado. We are still getting hammered with snow! UGH! I have seen so many spring inspirations out there, but I just can’t get there yet since we are buried in snow still. Today, I am sharing my last winter post of a Moody Winter Rustic Tablescape that I have created for our son’s 21st birthday that is fast approaching.
I cannot believe I am saying that…that our son is turning 21! A close friend and client of his are taking him on a private jet to Las Vegas to celebrate, so my little dinner party will be a little more “low key” than an extravagant weekend in Vegas!
As I mentioned, we are still buried in snow so I wanted the table to have a bit of wintery flair. Plus, my biggest goal was to make sure it had a masculine feel since we are celebrating his birthday with a few of his friends.

A Moody Winter Rustic Tablescape
Nothing says “moody” more than black which is where I started. My black plaid napkins are not only “moody” but also fit so well for a masculine-themed table. Topping them off with these Chateau Handcrafted Acacia Wood Charger Plates really warms up the place settings.

Our new simple Mason Modern Stoneware Dinner Plates were perfect for this table setting. It provides a moody foundation for my favorite Denby Pottery Modus Ombre Plates!

For the glassware, I kept things pretty simple.

Anytime I am trying to create a look like this, I bring out my Twig Flatware to complement a rustic look.

A Moody Winter Rustic Tablescape with a Natural & Rustic Centerpiece
When putting this tablescape together, I was considering that I would be entertaining a group of young men. No frills allowed so why not throw a few birch logs on the table?! No flowers allowed either so I used fresh Italian Ruscus (sourced below) to weave through the logs for natural freshness. What do you think?!

I just love how easily it weaves around the logs. It is super easy to work with!

More Rustic or Masculine Table Setting Ideas
Having a son and a husband, I frequently set tables with a masculine or rustic flair. I try to keep things casual and not fussy for them. Here are a few of my past posts to stop by for more ideas…

Creating a moody winter rustic tablescape for a group of guys is actually easier than you think! It is important to me to set a proper table even if for a group of 20-year old’s. I think it sets the bar for them to see the importance of sitting down for a nice meal at home, especially for a special occasion! Don’t you think?!

That’s a wonderful table Holly, especially with the No Frills, No Flowers directive! Beautiful! And I’m sure the guys will love it. Hope your winter ends fast, and you have a great trip. See you back here in spring!
I am soooo ready for Spring! It is almost here! Have a beautiful Easter, Barbara!
