With Father’s Day right around the corner, I wanted to share some Masculine and Casual Father’s Day Tablescape Ideas to celebrate the fathers in your life. First, I am sharing our own Father’s Day table but then a lot more inspirations from similar tablescapes I have created along with a few other great ideas.
These ideas would also work well for a birthday dinner, graduation dinner, retirement dinner, or anything reason you might be celebrating a special guy in your life.

I wish I was able to spend the day with my own father but I get to be with him the following week as we celebrate a big birthday of my mother’s. It will be so fun to have family time with them at the end of this month.
Masculine and Casual Father’s Day Tablescape Ideas
Sometimes, I think it is challenging for folks to come up with ways to create a masculine-styled table when is actually pretty easy. Here are a few simple ideas…
- USE MASCULINE PATTERNS SUCH AS PLAIDS, CHECKS, OR STRIPES.
- FEATURE MASCULINE COLORS LIKE BROWNS, BLACKS, TANS, DARK BLUES, AND GREENS.
- STAY AWAY FROM FLOWERS! USE NATURAL GREENERY OR PLANTS FOR A CENTERPIECE.
- ADD CASUAL OR RUSTIC ELEMENTS TO THE TABLE SETTING, INCLUDING LEATHER.
- USE SIMPLE DINNERWARE AND “MANLY” GLASSWARE.
You will see all of these aspects in this tablescape I created to celebrate the Hubbers…an amazing dad! Let’s start from the top.
1. USE MASCULINE PATTERNS SUCH AS PLAIDS, CHECKS, OR STRIPES.
I handled this with the check/plaid napkins and the placemats.
I used the same concept for this Masculine Dinner Party we hosted for our son’s birthday a while back. He insisted that I not make the table setting too fussy.
2. FEATURE MASCULINE COLORS LIKE BROWNS, BLACKS, TANS, DARK BLUES, AND GREENS.
For this table, I used a warm combination of browns, blacks, and tans for a super masculine look.
Here are a few examples of casual table settings I have put together using blues and greens. You can see all of the details of this Sophisticated Father’s Day Table with Herb Centerpieces that I created for my sweet Dad.
3. STAY AWAY FROM FLOWERS! USE NATURAL GREENERY OR PLANTS FOR A CENTERPIECE.
For this table, I just placed a few sprigs of Eucalyptus around the hurricanes and then plopped in a few succulents. So easy and inexpensive!
To tie in with the natural greenery, I simply added a sprig of rosemary from my garden into the napkin rings. It smells so divine!
4. ADD CASUAL OR RUSTIC ELEMENTS TO THE TABLE SETTING, INCLUDING LEATHER.
I had so much fun working with leather for this tablescape! The leather placemats really set a masculine tone for this table.
I flipped when I found the amber hurricanes with leather straps (from At Home)! So perfect for a masculine table setting! I have so many ideas for these babies on future tables!
My twig flatware was perfect for adding a rustic touch!
5. USE SIMPLE DINNERWARE AND “MANLY” GLASSWARE.
One final thought…the elements of the table setting could also be utilized for your fall table settings because of the warm, neutral tones.
